Dr. Mark T. Coene

Dr. Mark T. Coene was born and raised in the Rochester area where he attended Pittsford-Sutherland High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at St. Lawrence University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Buffalo?s School of Dentistry. There he was elected a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (The National Dental Honor Society) and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received awards for excellence in operative dentistry and removable prosthetics. After a short-term position running the Emergency Clinic at the University, Dr. Coene joined the practice and became partners with Dr. Gary Heuer. In 2005, after 20 years as Heuer and Coene, we adopted the name Caledonia Family Dentistry.

Dr. Coene is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Society, Seventh District Dental Society and Monroe County Dental Society. Outside the office, he enjoys golf, fishing, hiking in the Adirondacks and spending time with his family.

Dr. Meg Wheeler

Prior to joining the practice, Dr. Wheeler graduated summa cum laude from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then attended the State University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, graduating cum laude with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She also received the Tucker scholarship based on academic and clinical achievement. Her post-doctoral education continued at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo where she completed a general practice residency with certification in dental oncology. In 2009, Dr. Wheeler joined Caledonia Family Dentistry after the retirement of Dr. Gary Heuer.

Dr. Wheeler is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Seventh District Dental Society.

Born and raised in Batavia, Dr. Wheeler and her husband currently reside in nearby Warsaw. Outside of the office, Meg enjoys photography, theatre, fishing, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys going to area schools to promote proper oral health to young children.
